  The Halliwell sisters were always different, not just from the world around them, but also from each other. Though bound together by blood and destiny, these twentysomething women could not have been more different. Yet, the discovery that the three sisters were powerful good witches, foretold as the Charmed Ones, created a bond that reached far beyond petty sisterly grudges, and they banded together to keep their otherworldly witchcraft a secret and vanquish all comers.
Each sister has her own unique set of powers, which are constantly evolving. Phoebe (Alyssa Milano, Who's The Boss? Melrose Place) has premonitions and has been perfecting her ability to levitate, while Piper (Holly Marie Combs, Picket Fences) can freeze time and cause explosions. Newest to the Halliwell fold, Paige (Rose McGowan, Scream) was raised by adoptive parents and always felt that there was something different about her. In the search for her birth parents, she learned that she was abandoned at birth at a local church, the result of a clandestine love between Phoebe and Piper's mother and a "Whitelighter" guardian angel. This ancestry and the unexpected death of the oldest Halliwell sister, Prue, resulted in the awakening of Paige's powers to move things with her mind and to "orb" in and out between planes. Paige's more experienced sisters help her harness the power in their battle against evil.
PIPER HALLIWELL
Piper, the eldest sister, has always been the heart of the family. She was torn when her elder sister, Prue, died in a demonic attack, and found is hard to accept a new sister. She has always been the sister less accepting of the craft and is constantly questioning weather being a witch is worth all the pain and hurt which comes along with it. Piper is currently married to Leo, her whitelighter, and is expecting a baby after much difficulty with the elders and trying to conceive. She is the sister with the firepower, with her power she can freeze or blow up and demon at will.
PHOEBE HALLIWELL
Phoebe is the middle sister and possibly the most changed character in Charmed. Phoebe Halliwell has come a long way since season 1 and her troubles in New York and as a rebel teenager. Phoebe has always had trouble with men, and always seems to fall for the bad guys however had found her true love with Cole Turner, whom she married. Her marriage to Cole didnt last, and is now filing for divorce. Now that she is single again, shes back to dating. In the past, Phoebe has found difficulty with finding jobs, however, she has know found a stable job as a column writer in The Bay Mirror newspaper and has become a some what of a mini celebrity in San Francisco. Her powers are levitation and premonitions.
PAIGE HALLIWELL
Paige, the youngest sister, is the daughter of Patty and Sam. Her identity was revealed as a charmed one when Prue died. She came late to the craft but has learned fast, and has become a powerful witch. Her strong personality has made her one of the most likeable and funniest charmed one. Her power is teleorbing, healing and orbing. She hasnt had many serious boyfriends since becoming a witch with the exception of Glen, her best friend. She graduated with a degree in Sociology and became an assistant social worker. After being promoted to social worker, and realizing she isnt a 9-5 working girl, she soon quit to become a full time witch and devote herself to the craft.
PRUE HALLIWELL
Prue, the family protector, sacrificed her early childhood to help bring up her sisters after their mother, Patty, died. She found her true love with Andy Truedua, her high school sweetheart, but he tragically died in a demonic attack at the end of season one. Prue worked at Bucklands, an auction house, however this was just for the income and had no interest in the job. She quickly realized that she wasnt suited at Bucklands and gave up her job to become a professional photographer, a long-term dream of hers. Her powers were astral projection and telekinesis. Sadly, season 3 was to be the last for the character Prue. She died in a gruesome demonic attack in All Hell Breaks Loose leaving behind her sisters and the power of three.
