The World of Charmed, Buffy & Angel

Formerly a human being born in Galway, Ireland, around 1756, he became a vampire when sired by the disturbingly alluring Darla probablyin 1783. Has remained twenty seven years old ever since, dispite now being two hundred and forty for. Angel is the nickname of his possessing demon known as Angelus ('the one with the angelic face').

He created havoc and terror across Europe for over one hundred years and was according to The Master, the most vicious creature he;s ever met. His modus operandi involved sending his victims insane by killing those they loved before finally attacking his chosen. His known victims include Drusilla and Spike. Then, in 1898, after killing a gypsy girl form the Kalderash Clan, he was cursed by her people to regain his soul and have knowledge of the dreadful crimes he has committed against humanity.

Damned to walk the earth in torment, Angel -the vampire with a soul- spent most of the following century in abject misery over his past deeds, shunning other vampires, coming to America and living in the dark and the gutter. Rescued by a friendly demon, Whistler, and shown a path of hope in the shape of the Vampire Slayer, Buffy Summers, Angel travelled to the Hellmouth, Sunnydale and spent almost two years helping the Slayer and her friends Willow, Xander and Giles fight the forces of darkness. Briefly, he lost his soul again, after enjoying a moment of true happiness with Buffy and returned to his evil ways. But he was cured (and cursed) by a reversal spell just before being sent to Hell to save the world from the coming of the demon Acathla. On his return from the home of the damned, Angel regained his humanity and resumed his relationship with Buffy but eventually discovered that there never could be a future in a relationship between the pair. Now he has left for Los Angeles, to continue his fight against demons and monsters, to discover the exact reason that he had been returned to this dimension by the powers that be, and to try and forget the girl he left behind.

The nastiest girl in Sunnydale: Cordelia was born into a wealthy Californian family and spent most of her formative years developing a wilfully narcissistic view of life with herself at the very centre of the universe and inspiring various activities of the 'we hate cordealia club' (founder member and treasurer, Alexander Harris).

At school she became the group leader of 'The Cordettes' (Angel: a bunch of girls from wealthy families. They ruled the high school. Decided what was in, who was popular. It was like the Soviet Secret Police if they cared a lot about shoes). This group included Aura and Harmony, and spent most of their time avoiding learning anything remotely educational, wearing fashionable clothes and dating rock musicians and football players. However, beneath the bitchy and downright horrible exterior was a very different person, someone who realised that her populariy made her a magnet for people who just wanted to be 'in the popular zone' and had little interest in the real Cordelia. Once Cordelia's life had been saved by Buffy Summers and her friends, she became a reluctant, if occasionally vital, member of the Scooby Gang and even dated Xander Harris for some time before discovering his attraction to Willow Rosenberg. After surviving a near fatal injury shortly after this trauma, Cordelia was futher horrified to discover that her family had lost all of their money (after that nasty business of her father failing to declare any taxes for twelve years) and that she had actually had to do some work for the first time in her life. Cordelia, her dreams of going to college shattered by financial considerations, has come to Los Angeles to begin an aspiring career as a movie actress, but has had little luck so far in actually getting any roles. She agrees to help Angel get his investigations agency off the ground for a flat fee and until her inevitable stardom begins to shine.
