SEASON ONE

1 "Welcome To The Hellmouth" (part 1)
Buffy Summers moves to Sunnydale and discovers that her school rests upon a Hellmouth. She resists the idea of slaying, much to the dismay of her watcher, until her new friends, Willow, Xander and Jessie, are attacked. Angel also makes his first appearance and gives Buffy a silver cross.


 

2 "The Harvest" (part 2)
Buffy's secret is revealed when Jessie is taken to the Master Vampire. Her new friends and watcher help her locate him. Angel reveals his name in this episode. Buffy stops the Harvest and the Master must wait to rise. 


3 "The Witch"
Amy wants to be on the cheerleading team. Buffy finds out how much when a spell is cast on her. When Giles and Buffy go to Amy's home, they discover that it's not Amy who inhabits her body but her mother. 

 

4 "Teacher's Pet"
The course of Xander's love life never did run smooth. Xander falls for his teacher who ends up being a praying mantis who mates with and then kills her lovers. 

 

5 "Never Kill a Boy on the First Date"
Buffy falls for Owen, a cute, poetry loving classmate. When her slayer duties interfere with her dating plans, she must choose. She chooses Owen (duh!) and heads to the Bronze whilst Giles heads for the funeral home. Willow and Xander, and even Angel, also arrive at the Bronze looking for Buffy. After some fighting at the funeral home, Buffy finds out that Owen wants to see her because he finds the danger exciting, so she breaks it off. 

 

6 "The Pack"
Xander and some others become possessed by the Hyena spirit. After digesting the school mascot, Buffy knocks Xander out and the others eat the principal. Buffy and Giles take them back to the Zoo and remove the spirit from the pack. 


 

7 "Angel"
After saving her life, Angel returns with Buffy to her place. He tells her that they can't spend time together because all he wants to do is kiss her....so they kiss....and buffy sees angel is a vampire. She freaks and asks Giles if it's possible to be a nice vampire. Meanwhile, an old 'friend' of Angel's convinces him that maybe Buffy could see beyond his true visage to the man beneath. When Darla sets him up to look like he took a bite out of Buffy's mom, Buffy warns him never to come back. She tracks him to the Bronze and they duke it out. After explaining about the curse, Buffy offers her neck to him. He doesn't have a taste but Darla isn't so nice. After mocking Buffy with her and Angel's past, she goes after Buffy with some gun power and gets staked by Angel. 


 

8 "I, Robot -- You, Jane"
Ms. Calendar attempts to lure Giles into the 20th Century and Willow accidentally frees a demon to roam the Internet. They begin an on-line romance. Giles asks Ms. Calendar for help and discovers that she is a techno-pagan. Buffy and Xander attempt to comfort Willow by saying that non of them will ever have normal relationships so long as they live atop the Hellmouth. 


 

9 "The Puppet Show"
During the talent show, which Buffy, Xander and Willow are forced to be a part of, a heart is stolen and not in the good way. When it's revealed that a ventriloquist's dummy is a demon hunter trapped in the wooden skeleton, he and Buffy join forces to stop the real demon from chopping off anymore of Giles' hair. 


 

10 "Nightmares"
Nightmares come true when a young comatose boy begins releasing his and everyone else's nightmares into the real world. Xander is naked, Willow is on stage and forgets her lines, Buffy is dead and a vampire. Buffy and Billy beat back the nightmares and find out that Little League is not all it is cracked up to be. 


 

11 "Invisible Girl" (a.k.a "Out Of Mind, Out Of Sight")
A student who literally became invisible when she was ignored, takes her revenge on those closest to Cordelia. Cordy, hoping that Buffy is in a gang, asks for her help. Angel reappears and offers some books to Giles, while Giles finds it "poetic in a maudlin sort of way" that a Vampire loves a Slayer. 


 

12 "Prophecy Girl"
One of Giles' books foretells the death of Buffy at the hands of the Master. When she leaves to confront him, Xander goes to Angel for help but when they arrive Buffy has drowned. Xander revives her and they vanquish the Master.
















SEASON TWO

13 "When She Was Bad"
Buffy returns to Sunnydale with a serious attitude. She must put it on hold though because some of the Master's minions, including the Anointed One, are trying to put the pieces back together again. And they need Giles, and the Scooby Gang to do it.


 

14 "Some Assembly Required"
Some people just have a hard time finding the perfect woman so, these guys decide to make one. And, for some reason, they want Cordelia.


 

15 "School Hard"
Spike and Dru make their appearance. Spike promises the Annoying One that he will kill the Slayer, just as he has before. Spike though isn't a patient vampire and makes his move during parent/teacher night...where Buffy's mom is.


 

16 "Inca Mummy Girl"
Xander's taste in women proves even worse this time when he falls for a beautiful exchange student who has this need to suck the life out of people.


 

17  "Reptile Boy"
Buffy decides to have a little fun after Angel blows her off and Giles doesn't want her to do anything else except work and patrol. Unfortunately, she decides to go to a Frat Party with Cordelia, where there is this really ugly reptile guy in the basement who has this propensity for eating young women.


 

18 "Halloween"
Even though Halloween is supposed to be a quiet night for vampires and ghouls, someone forgot to inform Ethan who casts a spell to turn everyone into their costumes. Xander is a soldier, Willow is a ghost and Buffy is an 18th century noblewoman who wants to sit around looking pretty and hopefully marry a baron! When Spike gets wind of what has happened he and some miniature demons go after Buffy.


 

19 "Lie To Me"
A boy from Buffy's past life in LA attempts to deliver her to Spike in exchange for the immortality of being a vampire. 


 

20 "The Dark Age"
Giles' rebellion as a teenager comes back to haunt him...literally. In the form of a demon that possesses people who are either dead or unconscious. When it possesses Jenny, the relationship takes a downward turn. 


 

21 "What's My Line?" (pt. 1)
Spike, tired of the Slayer foiling all his plans, hires a group of deadly assassins to kill Buffy. Xander's propensity for attracting bug people is even better this time when a man of bugs attacks him and Cordelia. A one-eyed man attacks Buffy and Angel. When a funky pony-tailed girl attacks Buffy, we learn a few new things about being a Slayer...namely that there can be two!


 

22 "What's My Line?" (pt. 2)
Spike, thinking Buffy has been dealt with, kidnaps Angel with the hope that he can refuel Drusilla. Buffy must deal with this new slayer, whom Giles has taken quite a liking to, and figure out how to save her boyfriend. 


 

23 "Ted"
Buffy freaks when she catches her mom kissing a man in the house. While the rest of the gang fall for him, and his food, Buffy asks Willow to do checking on him. It turns out she was right when Ted slaps her around...not to mention the dead bodies in his house.


 

24 "Bad Eggs"
Buffy and the Scooby Gang must carry around an egg in preparation for parenting but when the egg hatches some kind of nasty squiggly thing, Buffy and Xander must figure out how to stop it. Meanwhile, two not-so-bright cowboy vamps come to town to kill the Slayer.


 

25 "Surprise"
Spike decides to give Drusilla the best present ever this year! The dismembered parts of a demon known as the Judge. When an arm appears at Buffy's party, Jenny insists that Angel leave to take it as far away as possible. When they are attacked, Buffy and Angel return to his apartment...where one moment of passion has some seriously shocking side affects.


 

26 "Innocence"
Buffy and Angel's night of love has ripped his soul away and now all that remains is Angelus. Angelus returns to the family, namely Spike and Dru. While Buffy's heart is breaking, Willow discovers Cordelia and Xander's secret and Giles and Buffy learn what and who Ms. Calendar is.

 

27 "Phases"
A werewolf makes an appearance in Sunnydale and Buffy must find it before Cain, the poacher from hell, does. Meanwhile, Willow and Oz grow closer until Oz learns something about himself and his behaviour when the moon rises.


 

28 "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered"
Women, in relation to Xander, are never a good thing. So when Cordelia breaks up with him on Valentines Day, he finds a way to make her pay by using magic...which, of course, backfires. Every female in Sunnydale loves Xander and wants him, including Buffy, Drusilla and Joyce. The exception to the rule is Cordelia for whom the spell was originally intended.


 

29 "Passion"
Angelus continues to torment Buffy with nightly visits. Buffy and the Scooby Gang search for a spell to uninvite Angelus from their homes. Meanwhile, Jenny discovers the key to returning his soul...unfortunately, Angelus wants nothing to do with that and lets her know in the most brutal way.


 

30 "Killed By Death"
Buffy is admitted to the hospital with a raging fever where she encounters a young child who sees death...literally. Meanwhile, a jealous Cordelia looks on as Xander protects a weakened Buffy from Angelus' personal brand of sympathy.

 

31 "I Only Have Eyes For You"
The tortured spirit of a young man haunts the halls of Sunnydale High...until Buffy and Angelus arrive. Giles believes that the spirit is Jenny until a black hole that tries to suck Willow in convinces him otherwise.


 

32 "Go Fish"
With the swim team being sucked out of their skin, Buffy decides to become their one and only bodyguard. Meanwhile, Xander joins as Mr. Undercover Man and reveals some seriously nice pecs which Cordelia seems to highly enjoy. 


 

33 "Becoming (Part One)"
Buffy realizes that the time has come to stop Angelus. But her decision is hindered when Willow finds the cure to restoring his soul. Elsewhere, Angelus decides to wake up the demon of all demons, Acathla, who can suck the whole world into hell. When Angelus sets a trap for Buffy, she doesn't realize until it's too late that it's not meant for her but for Giles.


 

34 "Becoming (Part Two)"
With Giles in enemies hands and Willow in a coma, Buffy makes an unholy alliance to stop Angelus and get her watcher back. What she doesn't know is that Willow has awakened and is casting the spell of all spells...the return of Angel.
















SEASON THREE

35 "Anne"
Oz, Willow and Xander try to take up the slack of vampire slaying while Buffy is waitressing in some seedy diner. When an old acquaintance asks for her help, Buffy discovers that you can go home again.


 

36 "Dead Man's Party"
After returning to Sunnydale, the tension between Buffy and the Scooby Gang is so thick you'd need a sword to cut through it! When a funky mask begins raising the dead, the Scooby Gang must put aside their differences and work together.

 

37 "Faith, Hope & Trick"
A new slayer arrives in Sunnydale and hot on her trail is a cloven vampire and Mr. Trick, yet another vampire. Faith ingratiates herself into every part of Buffy's life, until they realize that Faith is what brought these beasts here. Meanwhile, Angel drops, naked, back into Sunnydale.


 

38 "Beauty and the Beasts"
After a brutal mauling in the woods, Willow and the others fear that Oz, in werewolf mode, may be responsible. But when Buffy comes across Angel, she believes the worst of him.

 

39 "Homecoming"
The homecoming dance ignites a rivalry between Cordelia and Buffy. While they vye for each vote, Mr. Trick decrees that SlayerFest '98 is about to begin...for Cordelia and Buffy instead.


 

40 "Band Candy"
Some seriously kooky candy makes the adults of Sunnydale act like teenagers. The culprit is an old friend.

 

41 "Revelations"
The gang rips into Buffy again, this time over the return of Angel and the fact that she has been hiding him. A new watcher for Faith arrives but isn't exactly what she seems.


 

42 "Lovers Walk"
Willow and Xander's hormones are in over-drive so Willow decides to cast a de-lusting spell. When Spike gets wind of this, he kidnaps her and Xander and forces Willow to perform a love spell for him and Dru, who dumped him. Buffy and Angel accompany Spike to get the supplies that Willow needs for the spell. A horde of old 'friends' of Spike's arrive and a big fight ensues. Meanwhile, Xander and Willow are caught smooching by their significant others and Cordelia, in a mad dash to get away, falls through the floor and impales herself. Buffy breaks it off with Angel, again!

 

43 "The Wish"
Cordelia, seriously pissed off about Xander and Willow, makes a wish that Buffy had never come to Sunnydale, not realizing, of course, that Anyanka, the patron saint of scorned women, is hanging around. The world that appears is completely different than the other one and Cordelia doesn't last long, especially when she spouts off about Buffy to the Master's worst disciples: Xander and Willow.


 

44 "Amends"
Haunted by the people he has killed, Angel comes close to giving into the darker side of himself until Buffy and a Christmas miracle makes him see that the world needs him.


 

45 "Gingerbread"
Picking the worst possible night for a surprise "mother-daughter bonding" visit with Buffy, Joyce is haunted by the discovery of two murdered children and is compelled to take drastic action. When Giles suggests that the killings seem to be an occult sacrifice, Joyce rallies the entire adult population of Sunnydale behind a Salem-like witch hunt, leading the murderous mob directly to Willow, Buffy and Amy.


 

46 "Helpless"
Buffy never has any luck with birthdays, especially her own. This ones proves no different. The test given to a slayer on her 18th birthday teaches Buffy a few hard lessons. Especially when she discovers that Giles was behind it.


 

47 "The Zeppo"
'Xander lacks a power' is the theme of this episode. While the rest of the gang fends off the end of the world, Xander parties with the undead, does the deed with one very naughty slayer and saves the school. All in a night's work.


 

48 "Bad Girls"
Faith manages to turn Buffy to the dark side of the force, if only for a few hours. Along with a new watcher, Buffy does many things she normally would never do...including stealing and...oh yeah...aiding and abetting with a murder.


 

49 "Consequences"
The consequences of Faith's actions haunt Buffy. When she goes to Giles, she is shocked to find Faith already there. Soon it becomes a race against time, and Faith's sanity, as Buffy and Angel try to help her.


 

50 "Doppelgängland"
When a spell cast by Anya and Willow backfires, an alterna-Willow arrives in Sunnydale intent on making this world like hers.

 

51 "Enemies"
After a seduction attempt on Angel doesn't pan out, Faith goes looking for a more mystical means to removing his soul and finds it.

 

52 "Earshot"
Close encounter of a telepathic kind is the theme. Buffy overhears a threat against the students. When she cant block out the thoughts of others, she goes a tad nutty. The Scooby Gang step forth and try to figure out who the culprit is. Meanwhile, Angel again proves how much he loves her. I mean, how else do you show you love someone? Ya rip the heart out of a demon, thats how!


 

53 "Choices"
Buffy and the Scooby Gang must make a trade - Willow for the box that is the key to the Ascension.

 

54 "The Prom"
The Prom appears in Sunnydale along with some seriously disgusting Hellhounds intent on ripping apart anyone dressed to the nines. Meanwhile, Angel comes to the conclusion that he and Buffy can never be together.

 

55 "Graduation Day, Pt 1"
Graduation Day looms as Buffy, Willow, Oz and Xander prepare for the possibility that they're not making it out of Sunnydale High alive. The Mayor sends Faith to distract Buffy and she does an admirable job. With Angel dying, the final showdown between Buffy and Faith begins...and ends.


 

56 "Graduation Day, Pt 2"
With Faith out of the picture and nowhere near Angel's teeth, Buffy offers herself as a tasty treat (Holy Moly!), The graduating class of '99 spring into action for the final battle against the mayor.

57 "The Freshman"
College is hell. At least that's what Buffy decides before she receives a pep talk from a very unlikely source.

58 "Living Conditions"
The gang unites to encourage Buffy's oppressive roommate to move out; Buffy finds herself attracted to a handsome upperclassman.

59 "The Harsh Light of Day"
While Buffy is distracted by her feelings for an enigmatic young man, she must stop Spike when he returns to find a fabled relic.

60 "Fear, Itself"
Willow, Oz and Xander convince Buffy to join them at a fraternity Halloween party; Giles tries to catch the holiday spirit.

61 "Beer Bad"
While tending bar, Xander becomes alarmed when an intoxicated Buffy and her new drinking buddies are reduced to a primordial state.

62 "Wild at Heart"
Buffy tries to comfort Willow when Oz answers the call of the wild and is drawn to another woman, who turns out to be a fellow werewolf.

63 "The Initiative"
Spike is kidnapped by a commando squad and held in an underground laboratory; Riley, the teacher's assistant, confides in Willow about his crush on Buffy.

64 "Pangs"
Unbeknownst to Buffy, Angel lurks in the shadows while her perfect Thanksgiving feast is disrupted by an army of Chumash Indians, the original inhabitants of Sunnydale, in the form of vengeance spirits recreating the wrongs that were done to their people.

65 "Something Blue"
Buffy is only one of many who must bear the repercussions of a spell gone awry when Willow, pining over the disappearance of Oz, tries to imbue herself with the power to have her will done. The fallout includes Buffy falling in love with Spike and planning to marry him, Giles going blind and Xander becoming even more of a demon magnet.

66 "Hush"
Buffy fights a visitor alongside an incredulous Riley, and a silence descends on Sunnydale when the residents lose the power of speech.

67 "Doomed"
While Buffy and Riley grapple to come to terms with what they now know about each other, the reopening of the Sunnydale Hellmouth sends Buffy and the gang back to high school to prevent impending apocalypse. Meanwhile, Spike has lost all will to live without the ability to kill, but he grows heartened by the approaching end of the world.

68 "A New Man"
Buffy and Riley explore the extent of each other's powers as they become more romantically entwined. Feeling left out these days, Giles turns to his old buddy Ethan Rayne for camaraderie, but Giles must rely on an unlikely source when he is transformed into a demon and mistakenly hunted down by an unknowing Buffy.

69 "The I in Team"
Buffy's friends question her heightened involvement with Riley and the Initiative, while Professor Walsh gives Buffy a hazardous assignment.

70 "Goodbye Iowa"
A delusional Riley spars with Buffy when he finds out that his mentor, Professor Walsh, has been killed, while Buffy learns firsthand about the Initiative's secret weapon.

71 "This Year's Girl" Part 1 of 2
Rogue slayer Faith awakens from her coma and makes a beeline for Buffy's mother's house, hungry for revenge against her rival.

72 "Who Are You" Part 2 of 2
Buffy battles to escape the clutches of the Watcher's Council special operations team who plan to send her to England, while Faith continues to wreak havoc in the lives of Buffy's family and friends. Meanwhile, it's Willow and Tara who figure out Buffy's whereabouts, but not before Faith has done some serious damage to Buffy's relationship with Riley

73 "Superstar"
Buffy must put aside the turmoil she feels about Riley and Faith's night of passion to investigate why a former nerd is being feted as a superhero.

74 "Where the Wild Things Are"
When Buffy and Riley rouse a supernatural force, they are held hostage by ghost-children who have returned to exact revenge for past abuses

75 "New Moon Rising"
Oz returns to Sunnydale and is captured by the Initiative during a full moon; a conflicted Willow tells Buffy about her new relationship with Tara.

76 "The Yoko Factor"
During a surprise visit to Sunnydale, Angel skirmishes with Riley; Spike conspires with Adam to bring Buffy to her knees.

77 "Primeval"
Adam's plan to craft a master race of human-demon hybrids unfolds while Buffy is at odds with Giles and the others; Adam captures Riley.

78 "Restless"
A primordial animal spirit haunts the dreams of Buffy, Giles, Willow and Xander, making them each face their innermost fears.

SEASON FIVE
 
 

79 "Buffy Vs. Dracula"

Still searching for a normal life, Buffy is shaken by the awesome power and more than a little star-struck when she and her friends come face to face with the greatest vampire of all time, Dracula. While Buffy is powerless under Draculas thrall, Xander becomes the dark ones emissary and leads his friends into peril. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to Buffy, Giles is seriously contemplating returning to England as he feels she no longer needs his help.

 

80 "Real Me"

Buffy's slaying is hampered by sibling rivalry when she's forced to take Dawn with her and Giles to the magic shop, where they find the owner dead from multiple puncture wounds. The evidence points to a new vampire gang. When they learn the leader of the pack is Spike's ex-girlfriend Harmony, nobody takes them seriously until Dawn mistakenly invites Harmony into the house.

 

81 "The Replacement"

Xander is frantic when he wakes up from a demon attack and finds a Xander double taking over his job, apartment and girlfriend, not to mention his place in the Scooby Gang.

 

82 "Out of My Mind"

Buffy learns that Initiative experiments left Riley with super strength, a high tolerance for pain and an abnormally fast heartbeat that could lead to a heart attack unless he gets help. But only the Initiative can help him, and they no longer exist. Meanwhile, Harmony fears Buffy is still after her and seeks refuge with Spike.

 

83 "No Place Like Home"
A new enemy with overwhelming power travels through time to land on the Slayer's doorstep, bringing in its wake disturbing revelations about Dawn and the terrifying ability to cause madness. Meanwhile, Giles officially opens his store, the Magic Box.

 

84 "Family"

Tara's birthday arrives and with it the requisite surprise in the form of her brother Donny. Meanwhile, Glory recruits a demon in a new plan to take down the Slayer, who moves back home to keep an eye on Dawn. And a disgruntled Riley goes out drinking alone on the wrong side of town.

 

85 "Fool for Love"
Buffy forces Spike to explain how he killed two slayers, and his flashbacks reveal the first time he met Drusilla, as well as their collaboration with fellow bloodsuckers Angelus and Darla.

 

86 "Shadow"

In order to protect her sister Dawn, Buffy must face a horrible beast that has been conjured by the powerful demon Glory to help seek out "The Key."

 

87 "Listening to Fear"

As the Scoobies investigate a murderous, meteorite-born creature, Buffy stays with Joyce, whose brain tumor is affecting her personality. Meanwhile, Riley fraternizes with questionable company.

 

88 "Into the Woods"
Riley's dirty little secret finally hits the fan when a doting Spike reveals to Buffy that her beau's been sneaking out to pay vamps for their blood-sucking services. Reeling from shock, the overwhelmed Slayer avoids discussion of the discovery with her friends, and becomes hell-bent on destroying the den with which Riley was associated---only to find the undead denizens missing from their lair. As Buffy's rage gets the best of her, a supremely miffed Riley pays a visit to Spike.

 

89 "Triangle"
While Buffy recovers from losing Riley, emotions are charged between Willow and Anya when they are left in charge of the magic shop and Willow accidentally conjures an enormous troll that will force them to deal with their less than perfect friendship and their feelings towards Xander.

 

90 "Checkpoint"

The Watchers Council arrives in Sunnydale demanding Buffy pass an exhaustive review of her slaying skills or they will withhold critical information about Glory and have Giles deported back to England.

 

91 "Blood Ties"
Dawn's entire world crumbles around her after she learns that she is the Key---and dealing with the truth proves to be even harder than anyone had anticipated when she runs away. Glory discovers that the Knights of Byzantium, her competitors for the Key, are in town.

 

92 "Crush"
After being scolded by her big sister for having a crush on Spike, Dawn sheds light on the identity of the true object of the neutered vamp's affection - Buffy. With his frustrating Slayer fixation finally out of the closet, Spike swallows his pride and professes his love to her face, only to be rebuffed by the supremely creeped-out Buffster. Angry and humiliated, a sulky Spike returns home to find Drusilla waiting...and she's ready to take him back.

 

93 "I Was Made to Love You"
The bizarre mannerisms and superhuman strength of April, who's searching Sunnydale for her boyfriend, lead the gang to believe she's really a robot. Meanwhile, Buffy decides to go out on a date with Ben, but the Slayer has no idea how close he is to Glory.

 

94 "The Body"
After months of fighting and ostensibly overcoming a brain tumor, Joyce dies unexpectedly and in a manner seldom seen on Buffy---peacefully and quietly. Reeling from the shock of discovering her mother's lifeless body on the living-room sofa, Buffy manages to pull herself together enough to deliver the news to an already emotionally fragile Dawn ---whose overwhelming denial makes fighting the boundless forces of evil look like child's play.

 

 

95 "Forever"
Buffy finds comfort by confiding in a visiting Angel, but her sister's inability to accept their mother's death isn't as easily alleviated. Denial leads Dawn to a supernatural remedy for grief---a magical recipe for resurrection. Willow and Tara refuse to assist with the dangerous spell, but Spike has no such qualms about helping to bring Joyce back. More Dawn-centered danger brews when Ben lets a crucial Key-related clue slip to Glory.

 

96 "Intervention"
After Buffy and Giles leave town for some Slayer soul-searching, the Scoobies mistake Spike's custom-made romance with his Buffybot for the real thing. Then, Glory's minions kidnap Spike in the belief that he is the coveted Key. Meanwhile, Buffy has a reunion with the first Slayer out in the desert.

 

97 "Tough Love"
While Buffy is preoccupied with the pressure of being her obstinate sister's keeper, Glory and her minions set out to grab the person whom they believe to be the Key---Tara. Unfortunately, Tara is more vulnerable than usual, as both she and Willow are stunned from the aftereffects of their first big fight.

 

98 "Spiral"
When Tara spilled the Key beans (oblivious to the consequences of her actions, thanks to Glory's cruel brain drain), she left her friends with no choice but to act quickly. With the hedonistic hell goddess hot on their heels, Buffy and company flee in an unlikely getaway car---Spike's battered RV. Too bad it's not equipped for jousting, as the Knights of Byzantium have their own plans to deal with Dawn.

 

 

99 "The Weight of the World"
Buffy slips into catatonia after Glory kidnaps Dawn and prepares to bring about the end of the world, so Willow uses her wicca talents to reach Buffy deep inside her innermost secrets and subconscious fears.

 

100 "The Gift"
Another imminent apocalypse is at hand in Sunnydale. Buffy must square off against a true God when Glory prepares to use Dawn to break down the walls between the dimensions and unleash Hell on Earth. Buffy, Xander, Willow, Giles, Anya, Tara and Spike go to battle with the knowledge that they may not all survive.

101 "Bargaining"
When last we saw Buffy, she had sacrificed herself to save her sister, Dawn, from the clutches of the malevolent goddess Glory. Here, as her mourning friends try to continue her mission and hatch a plot to resurrect her, Giles contemplates a change of scenery.
 

102 "After Life"
As Buffy adjusts to life after resurrection, a shadowy presence menaces her sidekicks---a side effect of the spell cast by Willow to bring the Slayer back.

 

103 "Flooded"
The death of Buffy's mother last season left the Slayer as the head of her household, and Buffy's brief demise hardly eased the Summers' strained finances. So when the water pipes burst and their basement floods, a bank loan is their only option. But, alas, Buffy has no collateral. Plus, she's the target of the obnoxious M'Fashnik Demon, a heavy employed by three nerdy would-be supervillains. It's a good thing Giles is back.

 

104 "Life Serial"
Jonathan, Warren and Andrew test Buffy's abilities---and patience---with a secret campaign of harassment. The Slayer struggles to readjust to life in Sunnydale by attending classes with Willow and working with Xander.

 

105 "All the Way"
In a quirky and erudite episode, a sudden announcement sends the Scooby Gang into celebration mode on Halloween, but plenty of frights come to light when Dawn disappears.


 

106 "Once More, with Feeling"
Even Buffy devotees may be hard-pressed to find an episode as off-the-wall as this, as Sunnydale denizens become players in production numbers in which cast members do their own vocals. Hear Tara sing about her love for Willow! See Xander and Anya perform a duet! Listen to Buffy  croon about her lack of life direction! Who's behind the music? Dawn provides the key.

 

107 "Tabula Rasa"
Despite Tara's misgivings about her overindulgence in witchcraft , Willow tries to cheer Buffy up by making the Slayer forget the idyllic afterlife she left behind. Alas, the spell goes awry and affects the minds of all the Scoobies.

 

 

108 "Smashed"
Buffy's rejection of his amorous advances gives Spike a headache that renews his primal impulses; Willow reverts a former classmate to her old self; Jonathan, Warren and Andrew pull a heist with the help of supercool new weapon.

109 "Wrecked"
Buffy's tryst with Spike leaves the Slayer shaken to the core; Willow falls victim to a warlock who stimulates her craving for magic.


 

110 "Gone"
Buffy's efforts to help Willow's recovery are disrupted by a run-in with an intrusive social worker and a spat with Spike. Then, she's mistakenly zapped by an invisibility ray wielded by Jonathan, Warren and Andrew. At least she gets a new hairdo.

 

111 "Doublemeat Palace"
Hurting for cash, Buffy swallows her pride and takes a job at a fast-food restaurant run by a staff of odd employees, many of whom vanish without explanation.

 

112 "Dead Things"
Spike attacks Buffy---despite the chip in his head that is supposed to defuse his violence. Then, the Slayer's framed for murder by nerdy nemeses Andrew, Warren and Jonathan.


113 "Older and Far Away"
Lonely Dawn feels like the odd-girl out when the Scooby Gang throws a party in honor of Buffy's birthday, leading to a fateful wish that leaves the Slayer and her friends in a fix.

 

114 "As You Were"
Consumed by professional and personal disappointment, Buffy is jolted from ennui by the reappearance of her old beau Riley, who needs her Slayer skills to track down a demon called the Doctor. He also has some startling news to share about his private life. Meanwhile, Anya and Xander struggle to finalize their wedding arrangements.

 

 

115 "Hell's Bells"
On the day of his wedding to Anya, Xander gets cold feet about their prospective life together when an odd stranger offers him a glimpse into the future. 

 

 

116 "Normal Again"
A demon doses Buffy with a powerful chemical that causes her to hallucinate, convincing the Slayer her parents are alive and Dawn never existed.

 

 

117 "Entropy"
Still smarting from being jilted at the altar by Xander, Anya seeks advice from Halfrek; Buffy tries to bond with Dawn while avoiding Spike; Andrew, Jonathan and Warren experiment with a talisman; Willow asks Tara out for coffee.

 

 

118 "Seeing Red"
Buffy goes looking for trouble in the lair of Warren, Andrew and Jonathan, the three nerds obsessed with her destruction, and she nearly falls victim to a booby trap of buzz saws. But that's the least of the Slayer's worries. With a little help from his friends, Warren acquires the Orbs of Nezzla'khan, a pair of demonic talismans that he says imbue him with strength, invulnerability...the deluxe package, thus setting the stage for a fateful showdown.

 

 

119 "Villains"

Buffy tries to recover from an assassination attempt; Jonathan and Andrew share a jail cell; Warren seeks allies at a demon bar; Anya is confronted by Willow.

 

 

120 "Two to Go"

In the first of a two-part sixth-season finale, Buffy, Anya and Xander race to the Sunnydale police station to try to save Jonathan and Andrew from a sorceress; Dawn persuades Clem to take her to Rack; Spike's stamina and courage are put to the test by a mysterious demon.

 

 

121 "Grave"

In the second part of the sixth-season finale, a magical friend helps the Scooby Gang try to stop a sorceress. But the witch still has a few tricks up her sleeve---and an unwilling assistant. Also: Spike's African sojourn comes to a climax.

122 "Lessons"

Buffy learns that her old high school still possesses the deep, dark secrets of years past when she escorts Dawn to her first day at school.

 

123 "Beneath You"

Buffy reluctantly teams with Spike to slug it out with a gigantic worm, but there's a bigger surprise in store for the Slayer.

 

124 "Same Time, Same Place"
Buffy, Xander and Dawn are unable to find Willow, whose return to Sunnydale is marred by a demon who relishes the skin of his victims.


 

125 "Help"
Novice counselor Buffy gropes for words of wisdom for Sunnydale High students, but is left speechless by Cassie, a teen who calmly predicts her own death.


 

126 "Selfless"
Anya's breakup with Xander has driven her to return to her vengeance-demon ways with, well, a vengeance. But that changes after she takes a humiliated coed's desire to make frat boys "feel what it's like to have [their] hearts ripped out" too literally. Horrified by the carnage she has caused, Anya struggles to wash the blood from her hands. Juxtaposed with this "Macbeth"-like scene is a hilarious flashback detailing Anya's transformation from medieval Swedish housewife to demon. Back in the present, Willow discovers the bodies and alerts Buffy.


 

127 "Him"
Lovestruck Dawn pushes to have a charismatic jock made quarterback on Sunnydale High's football team; Xander and Spike become reluctant roommates.


 

128 "Conversations with Dead People"
While out on patrol, Buffy squares off with a former classmate and current vampire, who goads her into revealing her insecurities. Back at home, Dawn is thrown into a panic when an invisible force trashes the Summers' house and deposits the corpse of her mother on the sofa. Meanwhile, nerdy villains Jonathan and Andrew return from Mexico.

 

129 "Sleeper"
As Dawn and Willow recover from their chaotic night at the Summers house, Buffy probes a series of grisly murders that may be the work of Spike.

 

130 "Never Leave Me"
Spike is held captive in the Summers home while the Scoobies ponder their options in the aftermath of his murder spree; a squeamish Andrew tries to master killing; Buffy contacts the Watchers' Council for advice.

 

131 "Bring on the Night"

As the Scoobies research the orgins of the First to find a way to rescue Spike, Giles arrives with reinforcements---three apprentice Slayers. Also: Buffy is rattled when her mother offers advice in her dreams.

 

132 "Showtime"
Skeletal, callous and frighteningly strong, the Ubervamp is among Buffy's deadliest foes. Chief minion of the devilish, shape-shifting First, the demon divides his time between killing potential Slayers and torturing the kidnapped Spike. Determined to protect her apprentices and rescue Spike, Buffy racks her brain for a plan of action while Giles and Anya hope that a visionary creature called Beljoxa's Eye can offer a final solution to the First threat.

 

 

133 "Potential"
Buffy enlists Spike's aid in graphic, intensive training of the Potential Slayers in anticipation of the expected cataclysmic return of The First. Meanwhile, Willow performs a spell that reveals that another unexpected Potential Slayer is living in Sunnydale.

 

134 "The Killer in Me"
Willow undergoes a disturbing change in appearance following a night out with Kennedy; Spike is beset by unexplained headaches; Giles takes the Potentials on a mystical retreat. 

 

135 "First Date"
A dinner invitation from Principal Wood piques Buffy's curiosity---and her suspicions; Anya fumes when Xander lassoes a date with a flirtatious woman interested in rope; Giles struggles to communicate with a new Potential who speaks only Vietnamese.

 

136 "Get it Done"

Desperate for a way to curtail the First, Buffy embarks on a perilous quest for knowledge while, back at the Summers house, the Scoobies are rocked by tragedy within their ranks.

 

137 "Storyteller"

Andrew irritates the Scoobies by filming their activities for a documentary on Buffy as Sunnydale High is rocked by a sudden outbreak of student violence; Xander and Anya reconsider their relationship.

 

138 "Lies My Parents Told Me"
The Scoobies' failure to nullify the First's hold on Spike inspires Wood to pursue a vendetta as the vampire relives the day his soul was taken away.

 

139 "Dirty Girls"

Faith re-joins forces with the growing Scooby gang just as The First empowers a dangerous new threat, the malevolent cleric Caleb. When Buffy decides to face Caleb head-on and test the wannabes, his power and viciousness stun her and the gang.

 

140 "Empty Places"

As Sunnydale evacuates in anticipation of the big battle, Caleb works with The First in setting a trap for Buffy. While the unlikely pair of Spike and Andrew investigates a mission that had been attacked by Caleb in the past, Faith takes the potentials out for a night of blowing off steam, causing Buffy to lose control of the group.

 

 

141 "Touched"

After capturing one of 'The First's' evil Bringers, Faith and the Potentials discover an element of his plan for annihilation and launch a preemptive attack as Buffy takes on Caleb in a treacherous brawl. Meanwhile, the threat of impending doom leads several of the Scooby Gang to seek what may be their final intimate moments.

 

 

142 "End of Days"

Buffy reclaims her role as leader before going back into battle with a newly juiced Caleb...and Angel shows up to help Buffy in the fight.

 

 

143 "Chosen"

In the stunning series finale, Angel and Buffy have an emotional reunion Buffy hatches a plan which leads the gang towards one last awesome mission into the Hellmouth itself.
